Lo-Fi

For me, the camera phone offers an impressionistic approach to photography, in a way similar to the plastic toy camera I’ve used previously. I think it’s fair to say that the emergence of the iPhone has impacted photography as significantly as the Leica 35mm camera did in the 1930s. Its shape, ease of use, and image manipulating apps have made it possible to create new types of photographs, both artistically and journalistically. The resulting “lo-fi” aesthetic is the inspiration for the title of this portfolio.
